    Note: This is a comprehensive kit of the Official Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera with dual lenses, the 6mm wide angle CS Mount Lens and  16mm Telephoto C Mount Lens.
     
    The Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera is the latest camera accessory from Raspberry Pi. It offers higher resolution and sensitivity (approximately 50% greater area per pixel for improved low-light performance) than the existing Camera Module v2.

    The package comprises a circuit board carrying a Sony IMX477 sensor, an FPC cable for connection to a Raspberry Pi computer, a milled aluminium lens mount with integrated tripod mount and focus adjustment ring, and a C- to CS-mount adapter. However, a lens is a MUST to enable the HQ camera to capture pictures, so we bundle it with both 6mm wide angle lens and 16mm lens in this kit.
     
    Here is some info about C-mount and CS-mount from meijitechno.com:

    "C- and CS-mount lenses are both threaded lens mounts found on most industrial CCD cameras and lenses. The difference between C and CS-mount equipment is the distance between the flange of the lens (the part of the case that butts up against the camera) and the focal plane of the lens (where the CCD sensor must be positioned). This is known as the flange back distance.

    The C-mount lens specification for flange back distance is 17.53 mm, and on CS-mount lenses, it is 12.53 mm. If you have a CS-mount camera and a C-mount lens, you can add a 5mm spacer to obtain the correct focus. If, however, you have a C-mount camera and a CS-mount lens, the correct focus cannot be achieved."

    With the ultra-high quality 12MP(megapixel) SONY IMX477 image sensor as compared to 8MP on Camera module V2. This High Quality Camera provides an alternative to the Camera Module v2 for industrial and consumer applications, including security cameras, which require the highest levels of visual fidelity and/or integration with specialist optics. It is compatible with all models of Raspberry Pi computer from Raspberry Pi 1 Model B onwards including the Raspberry Pi Zero and Zero W boards (except the 1st version of Raspberry Pi Zero board), using the latest software release from www.raspberrypi.org.
     
    This comprehensive kit includes a 6mm wide angle lens so you can start using the HQ camera right out of the box.
    The 6mm wide-angle lens mounted on the Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera module (need to mount manually), please REMOVE the C-CS-mount adapter.

    This kit also includes a 16mm lens so you can swap the lens to get what you need. The camera module comes with the standard 15-pin FFC cable (20cm length) for you to connect it to the Raspberry Pi board.

    The 16mm lens mounted on Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera module (need to mount manually), the C-CS-mount adapter is NEEDED.

     

    As mentioned earlier, this HQ camera module interface to Raspberry Pi by way of a 15-pin Ribbon Cable, to the dedicated 15-pin MIPI Camera Serial Interface (CSI), which was designed especially for interfacing to cameras. The CSI bus is capable of extremely high data rates, and it exclusively carries pixel data to the Raspberry Pi's processor.

    You can get different lengths of 15-pin Ribbon/FFC cable for better movement of the HQ camera. We have tried up to 1 meter and it works fine:

    The price of this kit is exactly the same as the cost of buying the 3 parts seperately (RM239 + RM239 + RM119 = RM597). The kit price shoud be lower than buying the components seperately to make it a more compelling value proposition than just buying the 3 components seperately, especially for those of us who already enjoy free shipping benefits.
