    Description

Note: From Aug 2021 onwards, the display that we stocked comes with a 2-pin (5V and GND) to power a cooling fan.

With this 2-pin power extension, you can now add a low-profile cooling fan to keep the Raspberry Pi cool even under the Screen.

Note: The low-profile cooling fan, Raspberry Pi board, and base are not included in this Touch Screen packing list, please get them separately.

Is this not the cutest, little display for the Raspberry Pi? It features a 3.5" display with 480x320 16-bit color pixels and a resistive touch overlay so it is slightly larger than the Raspberry Pi board, which is perfect for cover. The plate uses a high-speed SPI interface on the Pi and can use the mini display as a console, X window port, displaying images or video, etc. Best of all it plugs right on top nicely covering the Raspberry Pi board. Single power from Raspberry Pi is sufficient to operate the screen. As it uses the SPI and Power pin from Raspberry Pi's GPIO, it is nicely stacked on the RPi board.

Here are the steps we refer from this wiki page to install the driver graphic controller and touch screen controller:

    Driver Installation:

This LCD Module needs to install the driver first:

    1. Assuming you have run Raspbian either from NOOBS or Raspbian Image, please get the image from here, or the MicroSD card with NOOBS from here: 16GB, 32GB.
    2. Open terminal(SSH) and install the driver on Raspberry Pi: (tested on Raspberry Pi 3B+,3B,2B,2B+,1B,ZERO)

Run these commands in the terminal:

    sudo rm -rf LCD-show

    git clone https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show.git

    chmod -R 755 LCD-show

    cd LCD-show/

    sudo ./LCD35-show

Wait a few minutes, after reboot, the graphic will appears on the touch screen LCD.

Note: If you having problem to turn on the display, try follow the steps shown in this forum.

    Touch screen calibration:

This LCD can be calibrated using a program called xinput_calibrator. Install it with the commands:

    cd LCD-show/

    sudo dpkg -i -B xinput-calibrator_0.7.5-1_armhf.deb

Click the Menu (Raspberry Pi Logo) button on the taskbar, choose Preference -> Calibrate Touchscreen.

Finish the touch calibration following the prompts. Maybe rebooting is required to make calibration active.

You can create a 99-calibration.conf file to save the touch parameters (not necessary if the file exists).

    /ect/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf
