    Description

Everyone loves micro:bit, the pocket-sized educational computer that inspires budding digital makers. The easiest way to power the BBC micro:bit board is using a USB Micro B Cable. However if you are building a battery powered application, this two-cell AA batteries holder gets the job done.

This is a unique two-cell AA battery holder built specifically for the BBC micro:bit. The 6" (~150mm) cable has been terminated with a JST-PH connector which mates the JST socket on the BBC micro:bit board perfectly, hence making any of your projects completely portable.

    AA vs AAA Batteries:

This battery holder is designed for two AA batteries, while the battery holder that comes with micro:bit Go Bundle is suitable for two AAA batteries. So what's the difference? The capacity! AA battery is bigger in size than AAA battery. Since energy storing capacity is proportional to the size of the battery (within the same chemistry type), AA battery can supply power to your application for a longer time. Generally AA batteries have about three times the capacity of AAA batteries.
